PAST EVENT - Unveiling Persia
GGLB Gallery is thrilled to present Unveiling Persia, a solo exhibition by @art.by.gazelle.
You’re invited ✨ September 14-15, 3-7 PM
Persian artist Ghazaleh Sadr blends her love for bold colors with a deep pride in the rich heritage of Persian tile and mirror work. Working in oil and acrylic, she draws on traditional patterns and designs from Iranian art and architecture, which have been used for over a thousand years.
In response to the “Woman Life Freedom” movement in Iran, Ghazaleh began incorporating women with loose hair and bare bodies into her work as an act of defiance against the oppression of women in Iran. These women, who are forbidden from expressing themselves freely, represent the courage, beauty, and resilience of Iranian women striving for freedom.
